Do I need to have a certain level of fitness to participate?
Bella's Pole Studio is helping everyone look good and feel great. It's open to women and men of all shapes, sizes, ages and fitness levels. We've found that everyone who has taken on pole dancing and aerial arts for fitness has gained from the experience. You'll not only improve your level of fitness, you'll also increase your strength and flexibility as you progress through the classes.

Do I need to have a previous dance or gym experience?
Not at all! No matter your background, our courses cater for the absolute beginner right through to the more advanced student looking for a challenge.

Am I too old? Am I too young?
Definitely not! Bella's Pole Studio is extremely proud of its diverse student age range, with ages ranging from 4 years right though to 60 years of age! With a healthy attitude, we believe anything is achievable. Whether you're looking at trying something new, bored of the usual gym routine, looking to lose weight, unwind from work or studies, tone your body, lose that post baby weight, or socialise with the friendliest of students and staff, Bella's Pole Studio classes are helping everyone of all ages, sizes and ability levels feel fabulous and look good.

What does a typical class involve?
Our classes run for one hour so it is important you arrive 5-10 minutes early to ensure you can begin your class on time. A one hour class includes a thorough warm up, core conditioning and cool down. The main class component involves learning different pole or aerial skills, which are later linked and developed into a combination or routine. Pole and aerial arts skills learnt depend on the level undertaken and vary from learning how to spin, climb or hang. To ensure muscular strength and balance are achieved and maintained, pole skills are practiced using both sides of the body. Courses are conducted with an emphasis on technique, safe practice and with the desire to educate students on correct muscle use.

How do students advance from one level to the next?
Our progressive courses allow students to commence at a beginner level (Level 1) and work towards reaching new heights in the more advanced levels. There are no exams at the end of an eight week course however students are guided individually by their instructor and given goals to strive towards. On completion of a term, students have the choice to progress to the next level or undertake the same level should they wish to perfect their technique and further develop their strength.

What should I wear?
Our classes are designed with the intention of increasing one's fitness levels. Shorts or tights are suitable for Level 1 however for the higher levels you will benefit the most by having bare arms and legs to grip to the pole: shorts or short tights and a tank top / singlet are fine. We also offer Bella's Pole Studio and various branded merchandise for sale at the studios. We ask that you DO NOT wear or apply any body lotions, creams or oils to your body (including hands) on the day of your pole class as this will affect your grip on the pole. This is not only for your safety but for those students in following classes.

For students attending aerial silks and aerial hoop (lyra) classes, please wear long tights, preferably matte (not shiny) so you don't slip on our silks with your clothing. Plus a t-shirt or singlet for the upper body.

We also ask that you take off all hand and ankle jewellery before class so as to not scratch or damage our poles and aerial equipment.

Why should I go to Bella's Pole Studio?
We have over 50 years of combined pole dancing and aerial arts experience with many of our instructors Local, State, National and International Champions in the art of pole dancing and aerial arts.
